How Adopting Simba Changed Our Lives: A Journey of Love, Healing, and Second Chances

At The Empowered Companion, we believe in the power of connection between all beings, and nothing exemplifies this more than Ella’s adoption story. As one of our cherished team members, Ella welcomed Simba, a 6-year-old Pitbull, into her home in May of 2024—and from that day on, both of their lives changed for the better.

Ella had been searching for a companion to share her days with, someone to encourage her to get outside and embrace adventure. Enter Simba, a sweet dog who had endured challenges at the shelter but never lost his spirit. From the moment they met at the Denver Dumb Friends League, Ella and Simba knew they were meant to be together. His wagging tail and big smile said it all!
